Monster Squad to be remade

So it looks like there are lots of 80's movies being remade. This is really starting to make me feel old especially when they are referred to as classics.

But it looks like Paramount Pictures is planning on remaking the 1987 hit, The Monster Squad. It is a mixture of comedy and horror that introduces pre teens to the classic monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein's monster, the Mummy, Wolfman, and a gilled monster who is in search of this book to help them stay here forever.

The story is of a group of kids who loves scary stories and calls themselves the Monster Squad and hang out in a tree house. When they come face to face with the monsters they have to battle them because the grown ups don't believe them. It is a fun story that isn't too scary but really introduces kids to the monsters and their stories.

It is rumored to be under the supervision of Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. But will it be as good as the first?
