Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge is Named as the Charity for a Day of Mystical Blood Lust

Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge and Educational Facility has been named as the local charity that will benefit in several ways from the local Halloween event, A Day of Mystical Blood Lust.

On October 23rd at the Racquet Club Club House on Crosby Drive in Lexington, KY, there will be a HUGE Halloween Event beginning at noon. A Day of Mystical Blood Lust will focus on mystical monsters and animals such as vampires, faeries, ghosts, and of course werewolves. With werewolves being a topic of the day, Wolf Run was the perfect choice for the charity.

Wolf Run

Wolf Run is located in Nicholasville, KY and was created in 1993 to help innocent animals find a world that was safe and free from abuse. The founders wanted to create a place wheret they can either heal the abused and abandoned animals or provide a permanent sanctuary for those that can not be released back into the wild.

They help animals ranging from African lions, South American cougars, White tail deer, coyotes and of course wolves. Due to the high need in the area, Wolf Run has become a state and USDA licensed educational facility that also houses native Kentucky wildlife as well as homelss, abused, neglected domestic pets and farm animals. The environment that these animals live in are matched as closely to their native habitats.

They have been featured in Allure, Vogue, Lucky, and Cosmo Magazines. Wolf Run relies on the generous support of the public to fund the facility. They have a donation page to help with this on their website here

Guest Speaker at the event

Savannah Massey is the educational coordinator for the facility. She is currently working on her Wildlife Rehabilitation License and earning a degree in Wildlife Management with and emphasis in Wolf Behavior. Savannah will be our main guest speaker and will be discussing the similarities of wolves and werewolves to show how the mythology came about. She will be bringing a wolf pup that is trained to help facilitate educational events.
