Chapter 17: The One and Only

*Deep within the caverns he calls his home, Deadend broods. Long has he remained enclosed in his halls, awaiting the day he felt the desire to return to the surface. As he sits in front of his fireplace he reads the journal he has kept these many long months since the Black Raven Inn closed it's doors. His thoughts turn to those he once called family. Something pulls at his consciousness, however...something very familiar. Slowly, he closes the journal and rises. He is is time. He grabs his favorite smoking jacket and walks to the entrance to his caverns. He looks up at the moon for a that looks very familiar. Yes...the Inn has reopened it's doors. He smiles to himself as he races down the once familiar path to the Black Raven Inn. As he nears the Inn he notices the light in the window. "Great!",he thinks to himself,"there are people there already!" He walks quickly up to the front door. He suddenly notices indistinct image on the ground near the door. It seems familiar to him, as if it were someone he knew...he cautiously walks up to it.* Hello? Who's there?

*Deadend suddenly realizes that it is Ven...she doesn't seem to notice him as she walks to the back of the Inn. He watches her go.* Ok...I guess I'll say Hi to her later. *laughs softly to himself as he walks up to the door. Cautiously, he opens it.*
