Director Toshihiro Hirano (Magic Knight Rayearth) based this four-part OAV series on a horror manga by his wife, Narumi Kakinouchi, and the title has remained popular since it appeared in 1988-89. The four-episode long anime series about a young immortal vampire princess named Miyu and her protector/servant/best friend Larva.
