Mexican "vampire woman" cast in wax for immortality
Maria Jose Cristerna, a Mexican woman claiming to be a vampire, has had her body -- including implanted metal horns and pointy teeth -- immortalized in wax.Ripley's, which runs  Believe It or Not museums around the world, asked Cristerna, a former attorney, to be cast in wax so a replica of her could be put on display. Cristerna will receive the title of Most Unusual Woman in the World, according to Edward Meyer, Ripley's vice president of exhibits and archives.

Teens die after visiting 'vampire' grave
September 3, 2011 (nine news) -- Two teenage girls have died after crashing their car on the way back from a late-night visit to the grave of a purported vampire in Rhode Island.Bella DiPalma, 17, and Ellena Zuller, 16, died after their car flipped over on a dark and winding road that they decided to explore on August 1 because it looked "haunted," police said.One of the girls was pronounced dead at the scene while the other died later in hospital. Two other passengers escaped with minor injuries, CBS News reports.

Man claims to be vampire, attacks woman
August 14, 2011 (KPRC / Mark Boyle) -- Galveston, Texas Police said a man bit a woman on her neck and while beating her in her apartment, he claimed to be a vampire. The attack happened early Saturday morning at the Ocean Front Apartments on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston.Investigators said Lyle Bensley used his foot to break the door down and get inside the woman's apartment. The alleged victim said that she had never met Bensley.

Collinwood Manor, under construction for the 2012 remake of Dark Shadows
First Look: New Johnny Depp movie "Dark Shadows"
Warner Brothers has released the first look at Collinwood Manor, the setting for much of Tim Burton's Dark Shadows.  Filming began in May and it appears that work is nearly complete on the exterior, located in a remote area of Surrey (standing in for coastal Maine) in England, that will be used for the film.

Lugosi's former Hollywood home up for sale
The Beachwood Canyon home once belonging to actor Bela Lugosi is now on the market for the first time in forty years. With five bedrooms and four bathrooms, the 5,000 square foot house is currently listed at $2.367 Million. The home, which Curbed LA reports Lugosi lived in during the 1940s, was built in 1926. Referred to as "Castle La Paloma," it features a ballroom-sized living room, a dining room with bay windows, a library, and a service wing. There are also two master suites.

Delays hit Dracula author's city statue
A statue of Dracula creator Bram Stoker may not be erected in time for his centenary next year. Dublin City Council has yet to find a suitable location for the statue -- despite being urged to by Dracula fans. Stoker historians and his descendants want to mark his death in 1912 by raising a permanent memorial, but they say the council cannot find room in the city.
